Brand Communications Acquires Wireless Software Company, Civista

Mobile Data Specialists - Brand Communications today announced that it has completed its acquistion of Civista, the Spanish based wireless software company for an undisclosed sum. Civista is a leading European mobile company that provides solutions for businesses to deliver content and applications from any source to any wireless device (such as SMS and WAP phones; Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs); Smart Phones or Digital TV's) in a layout that is appropriate to that device.

Civista's wireless enabling middleware solution resides between an enterprises core data and applications and the wireless network connecting their users. The software platform interacts with standard Web and network servers and translates Web or legacy-based data and applications into XML. The software then reformats the XML so that it is available for access via mobile devices in a format that is appropriate to that device. It does this in a completely non-intrusive way, removing any need to redevelop the existing applications and protecting the enterprise from changes in network and device technology.
