The Apollo Emulator is an innovative software product that enables users to make seamless network connections from anywhere in the world.
When used with laptops or other mobile devices over communications media such as GSM, GPRS, 3G, ADSL or Wifi, the Apollo Emulator provides a reliable and efficient mobile connection to the enterprise's network and business applications such as e-mail and the intranet.

Enhanced Security
Ease-of-Use
Future-Proofed
Anywhere, Anytime Mobile Access
The Apollo Emulator allows remote users secure access to information at anytime, independent of their location, be it at home, travelling abroad, or in the car or on a train. Using the same desktop applications that are used in the office, the mobile user can access networks for high speed data transfer, data processing, stock checks, sales order entry, e-mail, internet connection or accessing the corporate intranet. As the mobile user is a true LAN connection, the office or host system can seamlessly connect with the mobile user in real time.
Seamless Connectivity
The software also delivers a unique experience to the user, as it allows them to move through different environments whilst maintaining a robust and constant session by using seamless roaming.
As a user moves out of WLAN / PWLAN coverage they will seamlessly move on to 3G or GPRS or even switched circuit and additionally other bearers are accommodated including DSL and Direct LAN access. If the user moves back into PWLAN, the software can automatically log them back onto the hotspot without user intervention and throughout the transition their VPN and security is protected.
Compression
In mobile communications, high levels of compression are essential so that use of the limited bandwidth available can be maximised. The compression algorithm used in Apollo intelligently compresses data according to its type and takes place at packet level. The technique has an excellent compression ability over a broad range of data types and as such benefits nearly all applications.
The Apollo Emulator has the ability to support many compression algorithms, including LZO. All data that is passed from the client to the company network is passed through the compression system.
The solution also has an effective dropped packet recovery mechanism that kicks in before and works faster than the normal TCP retry window. This ensures a faster recovery and more usable experience for the mobile worker in high latency or interrupted transports such as GPRS.
Session Management (Spoofing)
Apollo's unique Session Management technology (Spoofing) ensures that only real user data is transmitted, and that all other network traffic is suppressed. A virtual session is maintained between the mobile and host, and the call dropped during periods of inactivity. This makes maximum use of the available bandwidth, reduces backbone traffic, makes maximum use of the host port capacity and gives a significant reduction in call charges. From the user's point of view it means not having to log on every time and a much faster response time, increasing user satisfaction of the system.
Call Recovery
Calls will drop or disconnect from time to time on any network, especially when coverage is poor or intermittent. Apollo's unique call recovery design ensures that the call is reconnected as soon as possible, transparently to the user. Most software packages force the user to re-connect manually and log on, which wastes time and causes frustration. Apollo's push technology means that the host can intelligently re-establish the call if it has something to deliver to the mobile. A unique algorithm ensures no collisions between both ends as they attempt to re-connect the link.
Security
Brand's Apollo 'Emulator' solution ensures secure network access is provided at all times. By offering the highest level of security, using advanced encryption and authentication protocols that would protect the mobile user and enterprise from unauthorised access. The user can be totally confident about sending and receiving confidential corporate data.
Installation
The Apollo Emulator is installed as an NDIS driver that presents itself to the Windows Operating System as a simple Ethernet network Card. The Emulator can be configured to act in all respects exactly like a normal LAN card. The Mobile device believes that the Apollo Emaulator is a LAN connection rather than a 'remote access' product, which enables the user to run any LAN application without modification.
Apollo makes mobile data not only reliable but foolproof. The Apollo Emulator is so simple to use and configure, and once it is in use it is totally transparent to the user just like a normal LAN connection.
